Answers to the common questions, and how to reach a person.

What fishline does

Snap a photo of your catch and fishline tells you the species, length and weight. Every fish you measure lands in your private Catch Log. From there you can file it under a Spot, share it with the community, see it on the Catch Map, and find guides and charter captains on the waters you fish.

How measuring works

Hold the fish up like you already do and take the photo, or pick one from your camera roll. fishline checks that there is a fish in the shot, then reads the photo to identify the species and estimate the length and weight. That takes about 20 to 60 seconds.

The numbers are estimates. They are more accurate when something of known size is in the frame: your hand, a lure, a rod grip, a measuring board. A clear side-on photo beats a dark or angled one. For anything official, use a tape and a scale.

How credits work

One measurement costs 1 credit. Adding an age estimate is 1 more, and a growth projection is 1 more. Every angler gets 5 free credits a month. Credits are spent when the measurement comes back, not when you save the catch. Your balance is shown on the Measure tab and on the Plan and credits screen.

Sharing and privacy

A catch stays in your own Catch Log until you share it. Sharing a catch shows the photo, the numbers and the details you chose to add. Private catches still count on the Catch Map, and its All Catches view lists them with the species, weight, length, county and month only. No name, photo, spot or exact pin. Read the privacy policy for the full picture.

Deleting your account

Open Settings, tap Delete Account and confirm. Your account is marked for deletion, you are signed out everywhere, and your catches and posts stop showing in the app and on the web. If you would rather we do it, email nate@rackline.ai from the address on the account and we will take care of it.

A plan bought on the website is cancelled with the account. If you subscribed through your phone's app store, cancel the plan there too. Deleting the account does not stop store billing.

Common fixes

The measurement did not come back. Check your connection and try again. Credits are not spent on a failed measurement.

The species or the numbers look off. A clear, side-on photo in good light with something of known size in the frame gives the best result. If you already know the length or girth, enter it before you measure and fishline works from that.
