Delete your fishline.ai account

For the fishline.ai - AI Fish Measure app on iPhone and Android, and app.fishline.ai. Deleting your account erases it and what is in it. It can't be undone.

Effective October 9, 2026

1. Delete it in the app

  1. Open the fishline.ai app and sign in.
  2. Tap Profile, then the Settings gear next to Edit.
  3. Tap Delete Account and confirm.

2. Delete it on the web

  1. Sign in at app.fishline.ai.
  2. Open the account deletion page (link below).
  3. Confirm. A plan bought on the website is cancelled first.

Go to account deletion on app.fishline.ai

3. Can't sign in? Ask us

If you can't sign in anymore, email nate@rackline.ai and ask us to delete your account, giving the email address on it. To be sure the request is yours, we write to the address on the account (not the address the request came from) and delete the account only after you answer that email. We do it within 30 days of your answer, usually much sooner.

4. What is erased

As soon as you confirm, these are erased from our database:

  • Your profile: name, username, bio, photo, email address, password, state and county, guide listing, and your Apple and Google sign in links
  • Every catch you saved or shared, with its photos, numbers, comments, likes, shares and views
  • Your comments and likes on other anglers' catches, and the replies to your comments
  • Your Spots, follows, blocks, notifications, preferences, saved codes and every signed in session
  • The messages you sent (a conversation left with nothing in it goes too) and the photos in them
  • The photos and readings of every fish you measured, and any photo still waiting to be measured
  • The link between your account and our own app usage records

Right after that, every photo of yours is deleted from our photo storage, your address is taken off all our email lists, and if you used Sign in with Apple, we tell Apple to revoke fishline.ai's access.

5. What is kept, and why

Some records stay, with your name, email address and profile removed from them:

  • Purchase and credit records, kept for our books and tax records under an account with no name, email or profile
  • What each measurement cost us and how long it took, without the photos or the readings
  • Reports you filed about other anglers, and views and shares you left on their catches, with nothing that points back to you
  • App usage events with your account id, install id and details removed
  • Your email address at our email provider (Brevo), taken off every fishline.ai list so nothing more is sent. The provider keeps the contact record with the account details we sent it; email us and we clear those details
  • If an account was closed for breaking the rules: a one way scrambled copy (SHA 256) of its email address and Apple or Google id, so the same person can't sign straight back in

6. How long it takes

  • Your account, catches, messages and profile: erased the moment you confirm.
  • Photos: deleted from storage within minutes. If our storage can't be reached, the deletion retries for about 8 hours, and anything still left is flagged for our team to finish by hand.
  • Email lists: you are taken off within minutes, at most about 8 hours if our email provider is slow to answer.
  • Backups: our database backups roll over every 7 days, so 7 days after you delete your account it is gone from those too. Server logs, which can hold your IP address, are deleted after about 14 days, and our host's weekly backups of the API server, which can hold those logs and a photo that was waiting to be measured, roll over every 4 weeks.
  • The kept records in section 5: as long as tax and accounting law requires, with nothing that names you.

7. Plans and subscriptions

  • A plan bought in the app keeps renewing until you cancel it with Apple or Google. Deleting your account or the app does not cancel it, so cancel it first. See support for how to cancel.
  • A plan bought on the website is cancelled first when you delete your account on app.fishline.ai.

Only want to remove one catch? Delete it from the catch's menu instead. More about your data is in our Privacy Policy.
